A diverse organising committee of various faculties from the University of Ljubljana organised a 5-day workshop called ADVANCE dedicated to translational medicine for advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). Our Darja Marolt Presen participated.
The workshops topics included researching of new drug candidates, practical application of potential new therapies, regulatory challenges, new drug case studies, business strategy, good manufacturing practice requirements, with plenty of opportunities to mingle, socialise, share experiences and cooperate with peers. The lecturers came from diverse fields such as pharmacy, medicine, veterinary, law and economics. The workshop was organized primarily by University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy with prof. Matjaž Jeras leading the project under NOO ULTRA initiative. The international partners of the workshop were EATRIS, Istituto superiore di Sanita, Rome, Italy and the company Takis Biotech, Rome, Italy.
“The workshop was very well prepared and executed, attended by peers from the whole Slovenian ecosystem working in the highly specialised field of ATMPs. Workshops such as ADVANCE are a prerequisite for the growth and development of an ecosystem of diverse actors with the same goal – that of developing new therapies for patients,” said Darja Marolt Presen from CTGCT.
