The TFF Workshop was a two-day training on the Sartorius Sartoflow Smart tangential flow filtration (TFF) system, held on January 13-14, 2025. The workshop covered both theoretical and practical aspects of TFF, including system components, membrane permeability testing, and filtration procedures. Participants performed microfiltration to separate lentivirus-containing supernatant from producer cells, encountering technical challenges such as tubing breakage and membrane clogging. On the second day, ultrafiltration and diafiltration were conducted to concentrate the product and remove residual media components, with process efficiency assessed through conductivity measurements. Cleaning and storage protocols for the filtration system and cassettes were also addressed.
