CTGCT at the CREATIC Conference 2025: Driving Advanced Therapy Innovation

We were thrilled to participate in the 2nd Central European Conference for Advanced Therapy and Immunotherapy (CREATIC Conference 2025), a significant European event focusing on the advancement of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). Organized by the CREATIC – Central European Advanced Therapy and Immunotherapy Centre and CZECRIN – Czech Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, the conference aimed to foster international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge in advanced therapies and immunotherapy.

The conference took place in Brno, Czech Republic, from November 10 to 11, 2025. The two-day program addressed shared challenges, existing gaps, and future directions in the fields of advanced therapies and rare diseases. The conference covered five main thematic sessions, including: “Driving ATMP Innovation Through Networking,” “Navigating ATMP Regulation and Reimbursement,” and “Innovation in Cell & Gene ATMP Research & Development”.

Our Contribution to Innovation

The CTGCT was represented by our head, Prof. Dr. Mojca Benčina. Prof. Benčina actively participated in the intensive first day’s afternoon session “Innovation in Cell & Gene ATMP Research & Development”. The discussion focused on cutting-edge cell and gene therapy R&D, covering topics such as early-stage concepts, translational projects, and the path towards GMP-compliant development.

Prof. Benčina presented on the development of the CTGCT. The presentation covered our achievements to date and our plans for establishing a regional center of excellence in gene and cell therapies. The presentation generated interest among participants, particularly regarding opportunities for cooperation within European research networks and clinical projects. In addition to presenting, Prof. Benčina attended several expert sections dedicated to ATMP development, quality standardization, and regulation. Where she exchanged experiences with leading experts from research and clinical centers across Europe.

Her participation was a valuable opportunity to acquire new knowledge, strengthen international connections, and raise the profile of our research environment in Europe.
