Our next big event: GeneH & 21st CFGBC Scientific Symposium

We are proud to announce that in partnership with the Centre for Functional Genomics and Biochips (CFGBC),we are organising a scientific symposium held at the University of Ljubljana this 3rd of June. The event is titled:

“From Functional Genomics to Gene Therapy”

Date: Wednesday, 3 June 2026

Venue: University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Medicine (Large Lecture Hall), Korytkova 2, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Language: English

Admission: Free of charge

This event serves as a vital bridge between basic research and clinical application, focusing on the transformative potential of functional genomics and omics-based approaches in the realm of gene therapy and rare diseases. The symposium is designed as a focused, one-day event featuring leading voices from both the Slovenian and international scientific communities.

The morning session is organized by the CTGCT under the framework of the Horizon Europe GeneH project, this session highlights the research and translation strategies from members of the consortium for gene therapies targeting rare diseases together with 2 invited speakers, Duško Lainšček from the Kemijski Inštitut and Rajvinder Karda from University College London to present her work on AAV based genetic therapies and a Round Table organised in collaboration with Zveza Organizacij Pacientov Slovenije.

There will be a poster session during the lunch break and an afternoon session where the CFGBC will celebrate over two decades of excellence and its consortium partners will present recent breakthroughs in functional genomics across a diverse range of scientific fields.
